And we're off. Listen for the vowel sounds and if they're sharp or shaky, the nerves are kicking in. I don't hear any of that in "Jacobites"... the confidence of youth, eh?
This is a well known folk revival song saying, don't fall for the perceived wisdom of the time, think about it first. How very true, I hear you say.
This is one of the many songs that Robert Burns rewrote and reworked, probably around 1791. Note that it's an anti Jacobite song despite Burns' perceived Jacobite leanings.
