about

This song was written in Swedish, by a Dutchman living in Sweden, translated by a Faroese lady and a Scotsman whilst in Denmark. Cornelis Vreeswijk, the writer, was brilliant and of course he performed the definitive version of this song. I loved the song and my then wife, Annika Hoydal (still a great friend) translated the text. I then put the words roughly together. The song reminds me the Macs' magical Danish times, with Derek and Hamish, singing at Tivoli and around Denmark...... sorry, I'm not going to go into any of that.
