about

Ralph McTell first recorded "Streets of London" in 1968 and when we heard it we thought we'd discovered an unknown gem. By the time we recorded it, the song was around the folk scene and all set to get bigger. Our version was not the best and in the middle eight we decided to cover the orchestra with traffic noises, I won't tell you why. That bit has since been edited out for reasons of common decency.
