about

Here we go again, another song of misery. It was late-on in a recording session. I remember going into the studio and Bill Leader turning down the lights. The guys were in the pub and I sang it in one take with the D35 Martin guitar, then I bunged on another guitar. The singing style is pretentious to my ears.
Hamish came back from the pub and pitched in with his concertina part and I think I added a bowed psaltery.
Actually there are nice wee sounds in the instrumental but the song, which is about someone's husband dying of hypothermia (cruel but honest) but it was sung with too much pathos.
The sad sound of sympathetic, suicidal singing.
