Nick wrote this one and it's very much the song with which I identify this album. Sorrowless field actually exists and it's supposed to have derived it's name from the story that it was the only farm which was spared family losses after the ill-fated Battle of Flodden. Archie Fisher told me it was so named because the owners of the farm, Mr and Mrs Sorrowless, gave it that name.
I prefer the former theory. He's a mischievous person that Mr Fisher.
