about

This track had the distinction of being the first to be recorded by The Macs in which the voice carrying the tune in the chorus was not the singer of the verses, though some-one, somewhere, will undoubtedly prove me wrong about that. Hamish's easy bass notes carry the chorus exceedingly well and Derek is the man for the verses. I like our version of this well known Scottish song and it's a good starter for an album and a gig but we didn't sing it "live" very often. Gentle concertina from Hamish only topping and tailing the song and Spanish guitars from me and Derek. No frills!
The picture is the back cover of the 4 page album.
