about

I think this is a really good performance by Hamish on lead vocal and whistle. We knew the song very well from the sessions at Sandy Bells pub, which were becoming a little less regular because of our "day job". Obviously the whistle was added after the voice in this one and I think it works well. Young Bayne always achieved a fine tone on all instruments.
I reckon Derek and I are playing nylon strung guitars on this one, nice gentle feel. We only played two Spanish guitars just one other time, backing Ricky Fulton singing "We're Flowers of Scotland" on his TV series. Enough said.
