Written by John Imlah, early 19th century, this song has the easy, flowing phrases of the North-East and it's easy to sing because of that. Hamish Imlach claimed, with some justification, that he was related to the writer and I have no reason to doubt that great man.
I don't know where the "u" came in Gaudie. It was always Gadie with us.
It's more a burn than a river but I'm sure some Aberdonians will disagree with that. They're correct. That solves that one.
Some funny wee harmonies just to make it interesting.
