about

The North Carolina singer, George Hamilton lV, invited us to be his guests on a BBC TV series he was recording in London. What a pleasant man, so pleasant indeed that he gladly gave us permission to steal this song which he sang on the show.
I took the vocal lead and by then I was getting the hang of "this singing lark", so it's a reasonable result. Derek and I sing unison for quite a bit of the song, which was unusual. Yet again, it was well recorded and a good mix. I fancied a snare drum in it and the Scottish representative and booker for "Le Festival Interceltique de Lorient" in Brittany, Dougie Alexander, played in a pipe band so we chose him. Good choice. He was excellent and we used him again in the last track of this album to great effect.
