about

This is quite a subdued version of this song compared to our later rants. I prefer this version. I've always understood that the "wee room" was in Quin's Bar, Springburn, Glasgow and I certainly know it was sung in Glasgow well before we got hold of it, via Liz and Maggie Cruickshank, during the years of many Sandy Bells' singing sessions with these great ladies. Daniel McLaughlin is thought to have written the lyrics. I associated Maggie and Liz with the song so much, I added a set of falsetto harmonies to give that old Bells' session sound. I'll do anything for my Art.
