about

Shetland and Orkney are two of The Macs' top rated places. We performed at Festivals in both places and in Shetland we reunited our friendship with the group, Hom Bru, who made it their job to pour as much alcohol down our throats, in the least amount of time, then transport us to various sessions throughout Shetland. We woke up on an island, near an island, which was near Shetland. Our sort of group.
Everyone in Shetland sings "Papa Men" better than us and in retrospect, I think we should have left it alone, as there is so much local respect for the brilliant writer/poet, Thomas Robertson. Some songs with subtle rhythms and beautiful local dialects should only be sung by "the locals". We live and learn.
