about

We found that the folkies in the seventies adopted a technique of dividing audiences into sections which, we thought, was slightly naff. I'm afraid we made a wee bit of fun of that ploy in this song, Coasts of Barbary. The audience were well into the "joke" and reacted accordingly. The parody of the "division" syndrome appears again on track 5. Maybe we needed therapy.
