about

Credited to G. S. Morris. Unmistakably from the North East of Scotland and a great song it is. The dialect might be a bit difficult for places like the USA but be assured we've got trouble understanding it in Edinburgh as well. There's an Aikey Brae stone circle near the Aden Country Park in Aberdeenshire. No, that bit of information didn't help me either. The song is about the Sunday Fair and horse market at Aikie and the description of the idiosyncratic characters who congregate there is outrageous and very funny. It's in dialect so be prepared for a a possible breakdown of communication. Great whistle, Derek singing excellently as usual and I'm there as well.
