about

Aberlady Bay is approximately 15 miles east of Edinburgh on the Forth estuary. The song suggests that the fishermen are coming home but they'd have a job getting off at Aberlady as it's exactly what it says on the tin which is.....it's a bay. It became Britain's first Local Nature Reserve in 1952 and is a lovely place to visit, but no harbour. Cockenzie is probably a good bet, just down the beach a bit.
