about

Recorded 1978. We were back in Edinburgh for this album and we all had a very productive and happy few days in our home town. The legendary Castle Sound (Recording Studio) was bang in the middle of Edinburgh and we took full advantage of the "home gig" atmosphere.
The first line-up, Hamish Bayne, Derek Moffat and myself, Ian McCalman, always considered "Burn the Witch" to be one of the top albums we'd recorded.
The material is almost all Scottish and maybe we could have put another couple of new songs into "the mix", but it works OK. It's so tight because we were touring constantly at that time and if we weren't travelling or playing concerts, we were rehearsing.
Derek was singing like a linty, Hamish was playing better than ever and I was there as well. As usual, we couldn't believe our luck.
Technical quality is good, the best so far.
